Welcome to Separation Lake Lodge, historically known as an amazing fishing destination for nearly 80 years on the beautiful English River!

Located just north of Kenora, Ontario, Separation Lake Lodge has been a cherished fishing camp since the late 1940’s. Nearly three years ago, Chris and Amber, already well rooted along the English River with their Halley’s Camps lodges, purchased Separation Lake Lodge with a clear vision in mind. After decades of operating successful lodges along the English River, they knew firsthand that the waters around Separation offered some of the best walleye, smallmouth bass, and northern pike fishing anywhere. This allowed them to create a remarkable stretch of four lodges spanning over 40 miles of river with no other lodges in between.

Over the past few seasons, significant improvements have been made to elevate your stay. From upgraded facilities to new boat motors and new docks in 2026, the lodge now offers a refreshed and welcoming experience while preserving the charm guests have loved for decades.

Our 16′ Crestliner boats—now powered by new 2026 four-stroke Yamaha motors which make navigating the river easy and reliable. Each boat comes equipped with a depth finder, and upon arrival we’ll walk you through the equipment and highlight the fishing “hot spots” on your map so you’re ready to start your adventure.

Our cabins offer comfort and ease. Cabins are clean and cozy, they come stocked with linens, towels, showers, flushing toilets, running water, fridges, stoves, heaters, BBQs, fish cookers and more—everything you need for a relaxing stay after a great day on the water.

Arrival is simple:
You’ll drive to our Separation Lake Landing at 4:00 pm with your groceries, drinks, and fishing gear. From there, we’ll transport you by boat into camp which is about a 15-minute boat ride. After check-in, we’ll help you get settled into your cabin and oriented with the grounds. You’ll wake up the next morning ready for your first full day of fishing. Departure boats run between 7:30 am and 9:00 am.

More information:

Fishing bait is also available for purchase at the lodge for added convenience.

Wi-Fi is available in the store during open hours and accessible outside after hours.
